Dear USA,
We love you for giving us the opportunity to bring so many amazing au pairs into the United States and help them as they begin the next chapter of their lives. We are so grateful for the chance to meet people from all over the world and be part of their cultural exchange experience. Since Au Pair In America created the first au pair agency in 1986, you have welcomed over 120,000 au pairs and for that, we say thank you.
We recently asked au pairs about their first experience during the NYC Welcome Tour with Au Pair in America x Au Pair Weekend. We wanted to know their favorite part of America just after day one. Their “I made it moment” often happens at Hamilton Park, when they see the New York skyline for the first time. They are in absolute awe. These are the tallest buildings many have ever seen, the skyline feels instantly familiar, and for some, it’s the first time seeing snow. Au pairs shared how much they love the beauty, the culture, the buildings, and yes, even the fast food. But one thing remains the most: opportunity.
Like it has been for so many before them, America continues to be the land of opportunity. Thank you for being a place where au pairs can learn, grow, and build meaningful experiences. We feel so lucky to support this journey by offering the J-1 education credits they need to stay in such a beautiful country.
This love letter might be from us, but the sentiment is shared by immigrants across all 50 states who find opportunity here. You are millions of people’s Valentine.
And, if you don’t believe us, you can hear it directly from the au pairs themselves.
Love,
Au Pair Weekend
