Additional course details:
Students will need to plan their own transportation to the University of Hawaii at Manoa for check-in and back to the airport or their own destination once the course ends. All transportation for excursions during the course will be provided by Au Pair Weekend.
This course will focus on enhancing our cultural awareness, learning to build and strengthen connections with others, and discovering how to become more involved in our local communities. Students will also experience Hawaiian culture through excursions to areas of cultural significance.
We strongly encourage students to fly to Hawaii a day or two before the course begins or to stay a couple of days after the course in order to have time to explore on their own. Our course is scheduled with LONG days (often 12-hour days or longer), so please plan free time for yourself before or after the course dates. We will send a copy of your schedule 1 week before classes begin to help with your planning.
Course hours include pre-weekend assignments, post-weekend assignments, and a course evaluation. Check with your au pair agency regarding hours and credits, as requirements vary.
*Scheduled activities may be subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances and may be different from previous weekends.
