ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

What better place to study Arts & Entertainment than in New York City? Students will have the chance to participate in classes and interactive workshops taught by local teaching artists. Topics include sketching and photography for Visual Arts students, and drama, dance, and musical theater for Performing Arts students (depending on staff availability).

 

Step out of the classroom and try your hand at photography or filmmaking, visit well-known New York art galleries, or attend a performance: the choice is yours depending on the track you sign up for! You'll leave this three-day weekend with a better understanding of how New York City's arts & entertainment scene has influenced the world.

Costs and Educational Hours

This 3-day weekend course offers 36 hours (equivalent to 3 credits) for an all-inclusive price of $399, which includes tuition and registration, course materials, admission to museums, shows, and activities, transportation during class hours, and two meals.

 

Note: Hours include pre-weekend assignments and course evaluation. Check with your au pair agency regarding hours and credits, as requirements vary.

Classes are held at the following times:

Fridays: (check-in ​is ​at ​10:30 ​a.m.) ​11 ​a.m. ​- ​9:30 ​p.m.
Saturdays: ​9:00 ​a.m. ​- ​9:30 ​p.m. ​ ​ 
Sundays: ​9:00 ​a.m. ​- ​4:30 ​p.m. 

 

Attendance is mandatory beginning on Friday, with check-in at 10:30 a.m. and does not end until Sunday at 4:30 pm. If you are late to class or leave early on Sunday, you will not be eligible to receive your completion letter. Travel arrangements or work commitments are not accepted as excuses for missing class hours.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS FOR AU PAIRS


Get the most out of your time in the United States by improving your English skills! Learn about American accents, cultural traditions, and travel tips - all while getting to explore the sights and history of New York City

 

Practice your listening and speaking skills with interesting classroom discussions and workshops, and strengthen your reading and writing skills with written assignments. Learning American expressions and idioms will help you speak like a native! 

And best of all, this in-person course means that you get to practice everything you learn during the weekend in the heart of New York City!

 

This Level 2 course is for Intermediate/Advanced English speakers.

In general, classes will begin and end here. Arts & Entertainment: Performing Arts students may end at a different location on Saturday night, and both tracks will begin off-campus on Sunday morning.
