Interested in filmmaking?

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

We've just opened registration for our combo package for Spring 2019 New York classes! Sign up for one weekend course in April and one in May and earn 72 hours. Students who sign up for two weekend courses in New York will get to take our filmmaking workshop in April, taught by professional filmmakers Billy Gerard Frank & Lydia Darly.

As part of the filmmaking workshop, small groups of students work together to write, direct, film, and edit a film featuring famous New York locations as their backdrop.

Here's one of those short films, "Parallel", created by some of our students from November's class.

Interested in taking the workshop? Remember, only our combo students --those who sign up for two weekend classes-- will get to participate!

This post has truly sparked my curiosity about filmmaking, and I'm so grateful for the insights you've shared. It's made me want to dive much deeper into understanding the craft. Thinking about your points, I can see how the technical aspects might be intimidating at first, but the creative potential is just immense. This really resonates with my own attempts at creating short videos; I've found that translating the vision in my head into a tangible scene is quite the hurdle. It’s that balance between technical execution and artistic expression that feels so crucial. Honestly, the next time someone expresses an interest in filmmaking, I'm definitely sending them this article. It’s a fantastic starting point for anyone looking to explore…
