APW in-person courses provide the following educational hours:
36 hours for 3-day single courses (equivalent to 3 credits)*
60 or 72 hours for 4-day combo courses (equivalent to 6 credits)*
*Educational hours include class time, pre and post-assignments. Please contact your au pair agency regarding credits and hours as requirements may vary.
In-person weekends range in price depending on location. For location-specific price details, please visit our Locations Page.
Your registration fee includes tuition and registration, course materials, educational excursions including activities and transportation during class hours, as well as some meals if offered in that city.
Yes, you are welcome to attend courses in any city you wish! Many of our students travel from other parts of the U.S. to attend our courses.
You are responsible for arranging your own airfare and accommodations. You must attend all hours of the weekend to receive credit, so be sure to consider travel time when booking your flights. If it is inconvenient for you to travel, you may want to consider attending a 4-day weekend and taking one of our 6-credit courses so you only have to fly once. These are offered in:
Housing is NOT included in the registration fee for students attending a weekend course.
There are only three exceptions. The only locations where housing is included in the registration fee are:
Texas: Includes 1 night of accommodation in San Antonio and 2 nights at the Mayan Dude Ranch in Bandera.
Hawaii: Includes housing at the University of Hawaii Manoa in Honolulu.
Colorado: Includes three nights of accommodation at the Rocky Mountain Lodge.
These housing costs are reflected in the prices for the three locations.
In most of our other locations, we have arranged optional housing through nearby hotels or hostels that can be added on during registration for an additional cost. These locations include: Boston, Chicago, Miami, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Utah.

The cost of a 24-hour (equivalent of 2 credits) online course is $199.
The cost of a 36-hour (equivalent of 3 credits) online course is $249.
The cost of a 72-hour (equivalent of 6 credits) online course is $498.
Airfare and transportation from the airport is NOT arranged; you are responsible for your own flights.
Once arriving in your city we suggest taking a taxi or sharing an Uber with other au pairs attending class. Registered students will have the chance to share their flight and contact information to connect with each other. Most cities also have public transportation available.

At this time we do not accept two different forms of payment or two different cards.
Please use a domestic credit or debit card to make payment. International cards are not accepted at this time.
Your letter, on the school’s letterhead, will come to you as a PDF file attached to an email. For most courses, this will be 5 - 7 business days after you complete the class and all necessary assignments.
Yes. Once you complete your registration process you may contact our customer service team to request a Proof of Enrollment letter.
Pre-weekend assignments help prepare you for class. The assignments vary by course, but may include student discussion boards, quizzes, and presentations to be shared during the course.
Post-weekend assignments strengthen what you've learned over the weekend. These include written reflections based on weekend classes and activities, and other activities designed to help you make the most of your experience in the U.S. Not every course/location includes post-weekend assignments.
Completing these assignments is a required part of the course to receive your completion letter. You will be able to access these assignments online after enrollment.
YES! During the registration process, enter your friend’s name where indicated. We will do our best to keep you and your friend in the same section. Please sign up early to ensure there are two spots left in the course and you can both get registered. We ask for your flexibility as this is not always a guarantee.

After registering for a class, you will be assigned a designated program coordinator who can assist you with questions about your course and its location.
Contact us to request a refund. If it is within 3 weeks of your course start date, you will not receive a full refund. In lieu of a refund, it may also be possible to switch to another weekend or online course. Please refer to our refund and cancellation guidelines on our Policies page.
Yes! Au pairs in the homes of host families with military affiliation are eligible to apply the discount code MILITARY25 for $25 off any course, or MILITARY50 for $50 off any 6-credit in-person course.
