Deepen your understanding of the performing arts through classes, hands-on workshops, and excursions!

This course offers workshops in subjects like drama and dance, as well as the chance to watch a performance in action. 


No performing arts background? That's OK! Au Pair Weekend's focus is more on the creative process and becoming comfortable with trying something new. We offer a fun, encouraging environment to practice taking your skills to the next level. 

Plus, you'll have t
he chance to collaborate with your au pair classmates and create new performing arts pieces together!

Available in the following cities, each with their own focus:

 
  • New York City: The history of drama, Broadway and the importance of the New York theater scene
     
  • Los Angeles: The history of the film and TV industry and a particular emphasis on Hollywood
Performing Arts

VISUAL ARTS
 36 HOURS / EQUIVALENT TO 3 CREDITS

Deepen your understanding of the visual arts through classes, hands-on workshops, and excursions! Participate in workshops on street art and photography taught by artists in the field and visit a world-class art museum. During the weekend, you'll get to explore the city and practice your new skills in iconic sites like Times Square and Hollywood Blvd.

No experience necessary! This is a fun, encouraging environment for you to test out your interests and push your skills to the next level. 
 
All you need to bring is a cameraphone. We'll provide you with everything else you need to get your creativity flowing!
 
Available in the following cities, each with their own focus:
 
  • New York City: Art history, street art, and NYC landmarks 
     
  • Los Angeles: Contemporary art and its influence on social media and pop culture today, as well as street art throughout Los Angeles
Visual Arts

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT IN THE USA
36 HOURS /
EQUIVALENT TO 3 CREDITS OR 60 or 72 HOURS / EQUIVALENT TO 6 CREDITS

Interested in both Performing Arts and Visual Arts? This course allows you to study both in one weekend!


Through a mixture of lectures, workshops and interactive excursions, you'll learn about the history of the arts in the U.S. and the way arts and entertainment help create social change. During in-person weekends, you will also view a performance and visit a local art museum. 

Get to know your au pair classmates as you work collaboratively to create new artwork! You'll engage in class discussions where you can bring your own unique perspectives to the conversation and learn about the importance of creativity and the creative process.

In-person workshops include photography, drama, street art, and filmmaking/content creation. Through our online workshops, you will learn about photography, dance, graphic design and sketching.


Available in the following cities, each with their own focus:
 

  • Miami: Miami's street art and local landmarks, as well as its Latin-inspired music scene (60 or 72 hours / 6 credits)
     
  • Seattle: The history of Seattle's grunge music scene, street art and local landmarks (36 hours / 3 credits)
     
  • Online: Open enrollment & self-paced! (36 hours / 3 credits)
