Earning Credits & Educational Hours

Are your courses accredited?

Yes, our courses are offered through accredited schools of higher education and can satisfy the U.S. Department of State au pair educational requirement. You can see our list of partner schools here. We have worked with most of the au pair agencies in the US, however, it is always a good idea to check with your agency or local advisor before enrolling in a course.

Will I receive a completion letter on the school’s letterhead once I complete the class?

Your letter, on the school’s letterhead, will come to you as a PDF file attached to an email after you complete the class and all necessary assignments. It will include your name, the name of the school, date of attendance, the number of hours completed, and an official signature. You can print this letter and attach it to the form that comes from your au pair agency. An exception is our classes offered in New York City and Los Angeles through UCLA Extension, where you will receive a paper copy of your letter on the final day of class. If you register for a double weekend package, you will receive a completion letter for each course.

Can I receive a confirmation letter to prove that I am registered for a class if my au pair agency requires one to start my extension process?

Yes, contact your program coordinator by email to request a confirmation letter. To find the correct email address, you can contact us from our homepage or visit the city page for your course.

My country (i.e., Germany) gives money to my parents if I study in an American school. Do you sign/stamp these forms?

No, we only sign forms for American agencies. Your completion letter is proof of your attendance in an American School.

Registering for Classes

How do I register?

All registrations are done online through our secure registration system. You will need a credit card and valid email address. Click here to find and register for the courses that work for you.

Can I take two 3-day weekend courses in different cities?

Yes, however, you would have to pay the $295 tuition for each course because our partner schools are different in each city.

Does it matter in which order I take the courses?

Nope! You can sign up for weekend courses as they best fit your schedule and interests.

I live in a city where the program is not offered. Can I still attend your course?

Yes, you are welcome to attend courses in any city you wish. Because you are responsible for arranging your own airfare and accommodations, you may want to attend a 4-day weekend in Salt Lake City, San Diego or Tampa so you only have to fly once.

My friend is also taking the course; can we be together?

If you register early for the same course, this can usually be arranged. Contact your program coordinator. We do ask that you be flexible with your activity selections.

Housing & Transportation

Where can I stay? Is housing included?

Housing is NOT provided for students attending a weekend course. The only exception is our San Antonio course, which includes three nights of accommodation at the Silver Spur Guest Ranch. This cost is reflected in the price. In San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Chicago, we have arranged housing through nearby hotels or hostels. Students can opt to stay in our housing for an additional cost (around $35-$80 per night depending on bed type and season of the year.) For Boston, New York, San Francisco, and DC, we recommend staying at Hosteling International. Au pairs who register for these weekend programs will receive a discount code to book their dorm bed. Please note that the hostels fill up quickly and often sell out months before a weekend date. Additional suggestions for affordable housing are provided for most of our courses. Students can also connect with each other through Canvas, their educational platform. Au pairs can use the discussion forums to connect with each other and find others who might be interested in carpooling or sharing a hotel room.

How do I get to class from the airport? Is airfare included?

Airfare and transportation from the airport is not arranged; you are responsible for your own flights and once arriving in your city we suggest taking a taxi or sharing an Uber with other au pairs attending class. Registered students will have the possibility to share their flight and contact information to connect with each other. Most cities also have public transportation available. Your program coordinator can help you if you have specific questions or concerns.

The only available flights home will require me to leave class early. Is that okay?

Leaving early or missing class for work reasons are not excusable reasons. All class hours are mandatory.
