THE CURRICULUM
Leadership Workshops & Classes
Side-by-side with students from The College of New Jersey's (TCNJ) Women in Learning & Leadership program, you'll work through sessions on cultural awareness, civic leadership, active listening, and cross-cultural negotiation, then translate your au pair experience into practical leadership skills.

Festival
Participate in TCNJ's Community Fest, a fun and dynamic community space where you'll experience firsthand what collaborative, cross-cultural community leadership looks like in action, modeling the best of US civic engagement and community impact.

THE BONUS EXCURSION
A Visit to Princeton University
After two immersive days on TCNJ’s campus, the weekend concludes with a group excursion to the iconic Princeton University, where students will explore the historic campus, visit the Princeton University Art Museum, and enjoy free time in town.

Why This Program?
This is more than a weekend course, it’s a first-of-its-kind experience bringing
together au pairs and U.S. college women for a shared leadership journey.
Hosted on the campus from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in partnership with Women in Learning & Leadership (WILL), this program creates opportunities for meaningful connection through workshops, conversations, and hands-on collaboration.
WILL is a leadership community at TCNJ focused on helping students grow through mentorship, community engagement, and real-world experiences. Throughout the weekend, you’ll participate alongside WILL students, building cross-cultural friendships, sharing perspectives, and exploring leadership through lived experience.
From two immersive days on TCNJ’s campus and the Community Festival to a concluding Sunday visit to Princeton University, this weekend offers a unique opportunity to experience college life, grow your confidence, and connect with women from different backgrounds in a way no previous APW course has offered.
Course Details
Pre-weekend assignments open 3 weeks before the course and are due 1 week prior. Post-weekend work is due 3 weeks after.

Travel & Attendance
Flight Planning
Arrive no later than 2:00 pm on Friday and depart no earlier than 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Attendance Policy
Attendance is mandatory from Friday check-in through Sunday 4:00 pm. Complete all assignments to receive your Completion Letter. Contact your program coordinator as soon as possible if an emergency arises.
Pre & Post-Weekend Assignments
You'll receive a link to pre-assignments about 3 weeks before the course. Post-weekend work is due 3 weeks after. Check with your au pair agency regarding hours and credits, as requirements vary.
Housing
Housing is not included in the course price. An optional hotel add-on is available during registration, close to TCNJ campus, first-come first-served.

Refund policy: $50 administration fee on all housing refunds. Refunds allowed up to 30 days before the weekend start date only.
