As the capital city of the United States of America, Washington, DC is a vibrant city that offers history, culture, and a robust social scene. Students have enjoyed exploring historic neighborhoods such as Georgetown; visiting the Smithsonian museums; touring national monuments and the U.S. Capitol where congressional members meet; learning about the Supreme Court and Library of Congress, watching performances at the Kennedy Center; attending cultural festivals and parades; and volunteering with community members to help DC residents. Outside of the classroom, many students enjoy DC’s top restaurants and nightlife.

Costs and Educational Hours
This 3-day weekend course offers 36 educational hours (equivalent to 3 credits) for an all-inclusive price of $349, which includes tuition and registration, course materials, educational excursions including activities and transportation during class hours, and dinner on Friday evening.
Note: Hours include pre-weekend assignments and course evaluation. Check with your au pair agency regarding hours and credits, as requirements vary.

Classes are held at the following times:
Friday: 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Check-in from 2:30 p.m. - 2:55 p.m.)
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Attendance is mandatory beginning on Friday, with check-in from 2:30 pm - 2:55 pm and classes starting at 3:00 pm, and does not end until Sunday at 5:00 pm. If you are late to class or leave early on Sunday, you will not be eligible to receive your completion letter. Travel arrangements or work commitments are not accepted as excuses for missing class hours.

The Washington, DC program offers clean, safe and comfortable housing in air-conditioned residence halls located at Trinity Washington University. Each room offers a private bathroom and is equipped with two or three twin beds (depending on room type), linen (sheets, pillow and pillowcase, blanket, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and soap), closet space, desk, window covering, and Wi-Fi throughout the building. Each room is also equipped with a mini refrigerator and microwave. Housing fills up very quickly, so be sure to sign up for it soon!
